The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Indiana has implemented the Electronic Proof of Claim (ePOC) web-based program which allows all filers to file a Proof of Claim or Amended Proof of Claim directly through the court’s web site. A login and password is not required to use ePOC. Parties not represented by an attorney and registered CM/ECF users and filers may use this program. Access to the ePOC program cam be found on the home page of the court’s web site under the Pacer and CM/ECF links.
Key features of this program include:
- Upon filing, the Proof of Claim is immediately available through the CM/ECF system.
- A fillable Proof of Claim form is created through the ePOC program. The filer does not need to attach form B410 when filing a claim or an amended claim.
- Supporting documents may be attached to the Proof of Claim as needed.
Pursuant to Federal Rule of Bankruptcy Procedure 9037, personal identifiers such as social security numbers, taxpayer-identification numbers, financial account numbers, dates of birth, and names of minor children must not be included in any filing with the court. The last four digits of the social security number, taxpayer-identification number, or financial account number may be included and the initials of a minor child and year of the individual’s birth may be included. This requirement applies to all documents, including attachments.
Additional information regarding the ePOC system can be found on the ePOC Frequently Asked Questions page.
